Is MAYA free during the beta?
Yes. MAYA Beta 1 is free for invited testers. There is no payment flow anywhere in the app.
Can MAYA place trades on my behalf?
No. MAYA only ever reads market data and, if you connect Zerodha, your holdings and quotes. It has no order-placement, order-modification, or fund-transfer capability of any kind.
Do I need a Zerodha account to use MAYA?
No. Without a connected Zerodha account, index and stock prices are shown as "Delayed / last available" — the most recent saved close — instead of live ticks. Portfolio tracking, reports, and broker-report imports all work without Zerodha.
What exactly does connecting Zerodha give MAYA access to?
Read-only access to quotes, instruments, and historical candles through Kite Connect, using your own personal access token. MAYA never sees or stores your Zerodha login password, and the connection can be revoked at any time from Setup.
How does password-protected broker PDF import work?
When you upload a password-protected report (for example, an SBI Securities ledger PDF), MAYA decrypts it entirely inside your browser using the PAN or password you enter. That value is used only in memory for that one operation — it is never sent to, or logged by, MAYA's servers. Only the resulting holdings/transaction rows are saved.
Which exchanges and instruments does MAYA cover?
NSE and BSE equities, plus NSE/BSE benchmark indices (NIFTY 50, NIFTY BANK, SENSEX, INDIA VIX, NIFTY NEXT 50, NIFTY MIDCAP 100, and others). The instrument library covers the full NSE and BSE equity list, deduplicated to prefer NSE where a stock is listed on both.
Can other users see my portfolio or reports?
No. Every account's data is isolated. The only way anyone else sees any of your data is if you explicitly create a secure share link for a specific report — and even then, only the fields in that report, only until it expires or you revoke it.
Is anything in MAYA investment advice?
No. Technical signals, scanner rankings, "Buy Calls," and advisory notes are educational analysis only, not a recommendation to buy or sell. See the Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.
