Help Center

Everything you need to get set up and use MAYA with confidence. Developed by Satyajit Mishra.

Getting started

Create an account with your email and a password from the sign-in screen. Your workspace — portfolio, reports, watchlist, settings — is private to your account from the moment you sign up; no other user can see it.

Connecting Zerodha

Go to Zerodha setup in the sidebar and choose Connect. You'll be redirected to Zerodha's own login page to authorize MAYA — MAYA never sees your Zerodha password. Once authorized, live quotes, index prices and candle history become available while your session is active.

  • Zerodha access tokens expire daily (this is a Kite Connect platform rule, not a MAYA limitation) — you'll simply reconnect the next time you want live data.
  • Without a connection, MAYA shows the latest saved close, clearly labeled "Delayed / last available," instead of pretending to be live.
  • You can disconnect at any time from the same Setup screen — this deletes your stored access token immediately.

Importing a broker report

Go to Portfolio → Import broker report. MAYA accepts .xlsx, .csv, .tsv, .txt and .pdf reports, and automatically detects holdings/P&L reports as well as SBI Securities E-Margin interest reports.

  • For a password-protected PDF (for example, an SBI Securities ledger report), MAYA will prompt for the unlock method — SBI reports default to your PAN. This happens entirely in your browser; the password is never sent to MAYA's servers.
  • Every import is previewed before anything is saved, so you can review detected holdings first.
  • A fingerprint of each file prevents the same report from being imported twice by accident.

Portfolio tracking

MAYA tracks Delivery and e-Margin holdings as fully independent lots — they're never merged just because the stock symbol matches. Each lot gets its own Average, Hold, Partial Profit, Reduce or Sell guidance with a suggested review period, target and stop.

Reports & sharing

The Reports tab generates six report types (Portfolio Summary, Detailed Holdings, Performance, Risk, Tax & Transactions, MAYA Advisory) and exports them as plain text, CSV, Excel (.xlsx), printable HTML, PDF (via your browser's print dialog), or a PNG summary.

  • Nothing is shared anywhere until you generate a preview and explicitly choose to export or create a link.
  • A secure share link is optional, expiring, and revocable at any time, with an optional password and one-time-use setting. Anyone with the link sees a read-only view of that specific report only — never your login, other holdings, or account details.
  • A QR code is generated for every share link so it can be scanned directly from a phone.

Notifications

Dividend alerts can be sent to your own email (via Resend) or WhatsApp (via the Meta Cloud API) if you configure them in Setup. Both are optional and off by default.

Security & privacy

See the full Privacy Policy. In short: your data is isolated per account, passwords are hashed, PAN/PDF passwords never leave your browser, and MAYA has no ability to place trades or move money.

Troubleshooting

  • An index shows "Awaiting live quote": the market is open but a fresh tick hasn't arrived yet — this resolves itself within a few seconds. Outside market hours you'll see "Market closed · latest close shown" instead.
  • A broker PDF won't unlock: double-check the PAN is entered exactly as printed on your PAN card (no spaces), or that you're using the correct document password for non-SBI brokers.
  • Still stuck? Use the ✎ Feedback button on any page, or see Contact.
